Massachusetts, his focus centers on current, original music and improvisational traditions. He has studied at the Hartt School of Music and holds a degree in musical composition and acoustics from Hampshire College. Starpoli's diverse explorations have led to a wide experience collaborating with many creative musicians, poets and artists from various traditions. A mainstay at the Haiku Circle since its' inception, Starpoli will perform incidental music throughout the day on slide trombone and hand percussion. In previous years he has successfully collaborated with featured readers such as Larry Kimmel, Michael Ketchek and the late Art Stein. His long friendship with founder vincent tripi has led to a greater understanding of haiku and a number of exciting collaborations combining their poetry and music.
