Jeannie Martin: Director . . .
Jeannie Martin has been writing, teaching and leading haiku retreats for the last twenty years or so. She is the author of 10 chapbooks and two books of haiku reflections, the last one, Touch of Light, with vincent tripi, in 2019. Her latest book, shaped by the sun, was published in January 2023 by buddha baby press, a subset of Bottle Rockets Press, Windsor, CT. She also Co-edited with John Martone Chrysalis, a book of 65 haiku by vincent tripi, 2022, Swamp Press, Northfield, MA.
She teaches haiku in a variety of community settings including the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, senior centers, and most recently in memory care programs with a focus on strengthening the connection with the natural world for both caregivers and people with dementia. She loves leading haiku retreats, which she has done in New England, the midwest, and the south. Jeannie is a member of several haiku writing groups, and is grateful for the haiku community that makes up the Haiku Circle and offers support and inspiration for writers new and old alike. |
